Timeline/photo Gallery
All the images above are early in my development, included to show where I started from. Some are from an Instagram competition I did in 2016, and those were done to fit assigned themes. The lightning cloud look was done for a “death becomes her” challenge, and my concept was a weather reporter who was struck by lightning. The glove look was from a headpiece making challenge. The cyclops look was from a monochromatic challenge, and the color I chose was gray. This gray dress was also the first dress I ever made, using scrap bedsheets from my school’s theater department that had been used to spray paint set pieces on.
Photos are ordered from earliest to latest to display personal growth. Projects range from 2016 to current day.
The pictures above, for the most part, are makeup looks I did on my own just for fun. The pictures below are from challenges I won during a YouTube competition called “Drag Showdown” I did in 2017. I came in fourth in this competition and was voted fan favorite by the viewers. The first two pictures are from a “Kawaii Animals” challenge. I chose to be a squid. The second two pictures are from a challenge where each contestant was assigned a color of the pride flag to create a look inspired by. My asssigned color was green.
In college, I also managed to find ways to participate in the local drag scene, performing once or twice at The Odditorium and competing in the local Blue Ridge Pride pageant. My first time competing, I won the talent portion, and the second time, I achieved the title of second alternate.
The most recent big project I took on occurred when I was invited back to compete in a fan favorites cycle of Drag Showdown called DSDivas. During this time, I created some of my proudest work. Unfortunately, I ended up taking very few photos of these looks, but they’re all available to view in the video gallery!
I’m finishing up my gallery with a couple more photos of some of my most recent makeup looks. (The spiky wig was also styled by me and I’m very proud of it.) Thank you so much for viewing my portfolio and for your consideration!
By the time I was finished with Drag Showdown, I was a freshman in college. At this point, I had a lot less time to experiment with makeup and wigs, and it was pretty difficult to do so while living in the dorms. I still found time during breaks and free time, and really came into myself creatively during this time. (Photos below.)
